Visiting Tzu Chi Foundation

Today, my family and I were invited to visit Tzu Chi Foundation in Cedar Grove, New Jersey to join their Chinese New Year prayer and celebration.

The foundation’s building has two floors. The first thing we did after we entered the building is taking off our coats and shoes, in order to keep the gathering room quiet and clean; then, we joined the celebration and prayer.

After the event, a member form Tzu Chi Foundation interviewed me; she asked me some questions, such as how old I am, what grade I am, what my name is, what I want to be when I grow up, and what I learned from the event.

I told her, when I grow up I want to be a scientist to invent things to help people; I also told her that from the event I have learned we have to appreciate those who are nice to us, and to help people in need with compassion, love and care.
