Macy's Parade

At 6:00 in the morning of Thanksgiving Day, I climbed out of bed sleepily, got dressed and ate breakfast. I was still really tired and the morning temperature was freezing. This isn’t my normal wake up time, we had to wake up early to watch the Macy’s Parade!

The Macy’s Parade is a parade hosted by the Macy’s Department Store and it takes place in New York City. You can only see the parade once a year during Thanksgiving. We had to wake up early because there were many, many people also want to watch the parade. So we had to find good spots to view the parade. We brought chairs to the viewing area, but we ended up having to stand up because there was so many people and it was hard to see the street. (We came to the viewing area at 8:00am, and it was late already)! Although, the mini stool that we brought with us made a really good thing to stand on and view the parade.( The stool was suppose to be for us to sit on , not stand on). The only problem was that my younger brother Brian still couldn’t see the parade. (He could only see the giant float balloons). The time when the stool was the most important, was when my mom and I had to take pictures. The parade was two hours long and had gigantic float balloons, cheer leaders, dancers, military bands and giant floats on trucks. There was even a Sonic, Kung-Fu panda and Greggory from Diary Of A Wimpy Kid!!

After the parade, it was about 11:00 am so we had to decide where to eat lunch. My mom and dad wanted to go to China Town to eat lunch, I wanted to go to Subway and Brian wanted to go home to eat. We ended up eating at Subway. After lunch we went to a mall to look for a bathroom to go to. Since there was so many people at New York City watching the parade, that we had to wait in a line in order to use the bathroom!!!!

When we finally came out of the bathroom, it was 2:00pm, time to go home! So after we payed to the parking lot owners, we drove on to the highway toward home.

When we were almost home, my mom ask me if I had fun. I replied: “More than ever!”

Magic Secret Reveal

video

One day, after watching a movie called Magic’s Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed, I had an idea to make a magic show like what we watched।
I went to get my brother and we both made our own magic. I made my brother disappear on a chair and make him appear again.
We keep doing magic for a week and showed our parents. My Dad even taught me one magic trick.
Magic’s Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed is on Channel 9 on Mondays and Wednesdays 9:00 pm.
My Dad told me if my brother and I practice one more week, we could put up our own magic show. I really like magic and I want to learn more about doing magic.

Creative Writing

This summer, I attended a creative writing class hosted by the East Brunswick Library. In the class, I learned how to write a story; and when I came back home, I taught my brother how to write a story in the right way.
First, I taught my brother how to write the title. Then, I thought my brother how to write the table of contents, the index and the story. My brother liked how I was teaching him.
Before we start the story, we use our stuffed animals to make the story, some parts are just our imagination. Then, we start writing the story. We copy everything from what we did with the stuff animal.
We finished the book in three days and we stapled it, we were very happy.
I really like the books we made and I really want to make more books.

House Hunting -- Looking for Our Dream Home

We are thinking about moving to a bigger house, therefore, we started to look for a house. We hired a Realtor Ms. Ching to help us with house hunting; we searched the houses in East Brunswick, Monroe, Manalapan and South Brunswick areas.

We don’t like house with red bricks and too much trees. We like house that has two floors and not too old. We also looked at six model houses. The most important thing that we don’t like is stair facing the Front door. We have visited more than twenty homes so far and will make our decision soon.

July 4th Fireworks

On July 4th, 2009, my family and I went to Monroe’s Thompson Park to watch the fireworks. There were games, rides, shacks and drinks in the park. There is even a mini zoo and there were so much people, there were no more parking lost!

First, we find a place to set our chairs up and put down our cooler. Next, we went to play on the slides and ride a toy train. Thirds, we went to buy two ice pops and one cup of lemonade, plus three pieces of pizza for dinner. After two hours waiting, the fireworks started at 9:00. We have watched the fireworks for 30 minutes. Everyone was very excited because the firework was very pretty and shiny. When they exploded in the sky, some look like stars and some look like flowers. The explosion sounded like big thunder.

I really like the fireworks; they were beautiful.
